Columbia SWCD Board Chair Featured in Pride Month Environmental Exhibit
Columbia Soil and Water Conservation District Board Chair, Michael Calhoun, has been featured in Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve's Pride Month environmental exhibit, which highlights LGBTQ+ individuals involved in environmental stewardship, conservation, and natural resource work.
The exhibit, located at the Jackson Bottom Nature Center in Hillsboro, features environmental advocates, educators, scientists, and community members from across the country.
According to the article, Calhoun was recognized for his involvement in salmon habitat enhancement, urban forestry, trail preservation, and community-based conservation efforts. In addition to serving as Board Chair of Columbia SWCD, he serves on Oregon's Salmon and Trout Enhancement Program advisory committee.
The Pride Month environmental exhibit is on display at the Jackson Bottom Nature Center in Hillsboro throughout June.
